Jamshedpur : The Jharkhand government declared a holiday on January 6 ( Monday ) for Guru Govind Singh Jayanti.
The department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha issued a circular in this regard today.
Guru Govind Singh Jayanti is celebrated across India, especially in the Sikh community.
It is a day to remember Guru Govind Singh’s ( the tenth and last Sikh guru) teachings and contributions.
Some ways to celebrate include praying for the well-being of others, reading and listening to Guru Govind’s poetry, and discussing Guru Govind’s life.
Guru Gobind Singh is best known for rising against the Mughal rulers and safeguarding the interests of people from the invaders.
He was a benevolent man who preached justice, peace, and equality for all. He lived the life of a saint and inspired millions of Sikhs with his writings that depict the way he led his life.
