UditVani, Jamshedpur: The two- day district level philately exhibition Jampex – 2025 will kick- off at the Tulsi Bhawan in Bistupur tomorrow.
Organised by India Post, the two -day event will showcase the rich history and heritage of postage stamps, which will give the citizens a unique opportunity to see rare and historical postage stamps.
The organisers informed that the philately exhibition would witness participation of 20-22 exhibitors from various parts of East Singhbhum district.
There would be around 110 frames to be put up at the exhibition venue.
The exhibition will display postage stamps and cover pages issued on various subjects.
These tickets reflect not only historical events, great personalities and cultural heritage, but also the development of postal services.
The exhibition will be a special attraction for philately enthusiasts.
But, this years exhibition would not have any students participation due to various ongoing examinations, informed the organisers.
Various competitions will also be organized during the exhibition like postage stamp design competition, quiz competition and letter writing competition.
The winners of various competitions will get attractive prizes. The event will not only promote the art of postage stamp collection, but will also provide the opportunity to the young talents through creativity.
Significantly, the purpose of the exhibition is to raise awareness about postage stamp storage and make people aware of the rich heritage of Indian postal system.
