UditVani, Jamshedpur: A team from Tata Steel UISL’s land department faced violent opposition during a demolition drive in Sonari’s Circuit House area. Residents from the nearby Jhabbri settlement surrounded the team, pelting stones and releasing dogs on them. Amidst the turmoil, the team managed to flee to ensure their safety.
The assailants reportedly brought along two to three Labradors, which attacked and injured the personnel. Four home guard members—Pintu Kumar, Rohan Kumar, Shravan Kumar, and Gulshan Kumar Bhatt—were injured and required medical treatment at Tata Main Hospital (TMH). Despite the seriousness of the situation, no formal complaint has been lodged with the Sonari police as of yet.
After the attack, the injured home guards were promptly transported to TMH for treatment. Land department officials, along with representatives from the Home Guard Union, visited the hospital to assess the situation and gather further information.
While the incident has raised considerable concern, the lack of an official police report has left many uncertain about the next course of action. Local residents are calling for immediate action and preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
