UditVani, Jamshedpur: The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) today sent its heartfelt congratulations to Chief Minister Hemant Soren on his re-election for a second consecutive term. In a message of support, SCCI President Vijay Anand Moonka expressed confidence in Soren’s leadership and the government’s commitment to driving the development of Jharkhand.
Optimism for Growth under Hemant Soren’s Leadership
Moonka, in his congratulatory note, expressed full faith that the new government would focus on the promotion of industrial and business activities, ultimately fulfilling the aspirations of the people. He emphasized that Soren’s leadership would significantly contribute to the development of the state, paving the way for an economic boom.
Demand for Airport Construction in Jamshedpur and Dhalbhumgarh
One of the key points highlighted in the note was SCCI’s long-standing demand for the construction of an airport in Dhalbhumgarh or nearby areas around Jamshedpur. Moonka stressed that such an infrastructure project would not only benefit Kolhan but would also serve the entire state by driving economic growth.
“Jamshedpur, also known as the Steel City and the industrial hub of Jharkhand, has been in existence for over 100 years. Yet, it remains without an airport, a key factor that has delayed its full-scale development,” Moonka pointed out. He added that establishing an airport is crucial to the city’s progress and would boost its economic potential.
Impact on Investment and Industrial Growth
SCCI General Secretary Manav Kedia highlighted the challenges faced by businesses in Jamshedpur due to the lack of an airport. He noted that the absence of direct air connectivity has discouraged investors and hindered the growth of new industries.
Vice Presidents Abhishek Aggarwal and Puneet Kanwatia reiterated the economic significance of Jamshedpur. They pointed out that the city, which houses over 1,300 industries, contributes significantly to Jharkhand’s revenue. However, they emphasized that the lack of an airport remains a major impediment to further growth and industrial investment.
A Call for Action
As the Chamber looks toward the future, the urgent need for improved infrastructure, particularly an airport in Jamshedpur, remains a priority. With the ongoing industrial growth and economic importance of Jamshedpur, the establishment of an airport is seen as essential for unlocking the city’s full potential.
