UditVani, Jamshedpur: SAFE (Safety Awareness for Everyone) organized “Train the Trainer” sessions for school students on Sustainability and Cyber Safety at Kudy Mahanty Auditorium, Kadma, on November 22. The initiative aimed to empower students to spread awareness on critical topics within their schools.
Participation
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 250 students (standards VI to VIII) and 50 teachers representing 24 schools from Jamshedpur.
Sessions and Key Highlights
Sense and Sustainability:
Led by Professor Kalyan Bhaskar from XLRI, the session highlighted seven essential practices for sustainable living.
Engaging videos and practical insights made the session interactive and impactful.
Professor Bhaskar used innovative methods to connect with the young audience, making sustainability relatable and actionable.
Cyber Safety:
Conducted by Jyotshna Singh, Information Security Services, Tata Steel, this session focused on building a secure digital environment.
Key topics included awareness of phishing, cyberbullying, social engineering, and proactive digital habits.
Event Inauguration and Activities
The sessions were inaugurated by Neeraj Sinha, Chief Safety, Tata Steel, who welcomed the speakers and participants.
Quizzes were conducted following each session, with token gifts awarded to participants, adding excitement and engagement.
SAFE’s Reach and Vision
SAFE operates in 51 schools across Tata Steel’s Jamshedpur and Raw Materials locations, fostering safety awareness among youth. The sessions, moderated by Ms. Mom Mitra, Convenor SAFE, were designed as “Train the Trainer” programs. Participating students will now teach these topics to their peers, ensuring a broader impact.
The initiative received widespread appreciation for its innovative approach to equipping students and teachers with knowledge on sustainability and cyber safety.
