UditVani, Jamshepdur: Former Managing Director of Tata Steel Padma Bhushan Dr JJ Irani passed away at 9.59 pm on October 31st 2022 at Tata Main Hospital, Jamshedpur. Dr Irani was associated with Tata Steel for over four decades. He retired from the board of Tata Steel in June 2011, leaving behind a legacy of 43 years.
As the news of his death went viral, people on social media mourned the loss of Dr Irani.
The news has indeed left the residents of Jamshedpur heartbroken. N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons said “Dr J J Irani was a quintessential Tata man. He was a towering corporate personality whose contribution to the steel industry was immense. Dr Irani will be deeply missed by all of us at Tata Group and we pray for his departed soul.”
