UditVani, Jamshedpur: The Let’s Make A Difference (LMAD) Jamshedpur Youth Conference is being held at Kerala Public School (KPS) Kadma. Day two of the conference began at 7:15 am today (30th November 2024) with a serene prayer song, setting the tone for a day of introspection and inspiration.
Approximately 350 participants from 12 schools across Jamshedpur are taking part in the LMAD Youth Conference.
A Transformative Journey for Students
The three-day Youth Conference is designed to inspire inner transformation in students, empowering them to live by ethical and moral values while becoming responsible, benchmark citizens. The conference focuses on the importance of ethical values, introspection and quiet time, time management, career vision, and nurturing family relationships.
Keynote Address by Viral Mazumdar
Viral Mazumdar, the Chief Conductor of LMAD and the Chief Guest for the event, delivered an impactful address, underscoring the transformative power of silence and self-reflection. He highlighted the importance of “quiet time” to focus on our goals, desires, and inner growth. Participants were encouraged to look within, reflect on their conscience, and record their thoughts in diaries provided by the organizers. The session introduced four yardsticks—honesty, purity, unselfishness, and love—as measures of a meaningful life and discussed restitution as a way to realign with these values.
Focus on Screen Time and Priorities
The team also stressed the importance of reducing screen time, urging students to focus on their priorities. Through heartfelt stories, LMAD members shared life-changing experiences, touching on themes like the positive impact of honesty and the challenges faced by a lost generation. Students actively engaged by sharing diary reflections and listing their skills, passions, and the societal issues they aspire to address.
Moral Values and Vision for Change
There was also a wonderful session focused on the four moral values of honesty, unselfishness, purity, and love, which included a dynamic question-and-answer interaction. The day closed with two inspiring sessions: “The Power of Vision,” where students identified their skills and passions and explored how they could use them to make a positive change in the world, and “Concentration,” which provided valuable insights on focusing energy and enhancing study habits.
Looking Ahead to Day 3
The conference ended on a note of inspiration and purpose, with participants eager to embrace change and looking forward to the transformative sessions of Day three on 1st December 2024.
Guests and Dignitaries
The distinguished guests included Rtn. Dr. Amit Mukherjee, Rotary Club Jamshedpur; Rajiv Agarwal and ShraddhaAgarwal, Coordinators, LMAD; and Lakshmi R., Academic Director, KPS Schools.
LMAD Youth Conference is fostering a space where students can introspect, connect, and transform into changemakers. It has helped numerous participants in the past by providing direction, setting goals, enhancing family bonds, advancing careers, and fostering meaningful contributions to society.
