Uditvani Jamshedpur : A major fire broke out at a hardware shop in Parsudih market this morning, resulting in a chaos in the area.
Initial investigation determined short circuit to be the cause of the fire. According to eyewitnesses, within minutes of the fire, the flames spread rapidly and there was panic among the nearby traders and customers.
On getting information two fire brigades immediately reached the spot and after a hard toil fire brigade personnel brought the fire under control in about half -an -hour.
The prompt action of firefighters stopped the fire from spreading to other shops.
The loss due to the fire was estimated to be several lakhs . The fire engulfed construction materials, paints and other expensive equipments at the hardware store.
The damage was being assessed. No casualties was reported in the fire mishap.
Meanwhile , fire department officials advised traders to ensure proper electrical safety arrangements in their premises to avoid possible fire hazards in future.
The incident has raised concerns about safety of the traders, and the need to increase awareness about fire safety measures.
