Jamshedpur: The 31st Annual Sports Meet of Kerala Samajam Model School was held on Wednesday, 4th December 2024, at the Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The event kicked off with a vibrant and colorful march-past by the School Cabinet and senior students. The red, green, yellow, and blue flags fluttered in the breeze under the clear blue sky, setting the perfect atmosphere for the celebration of sportsmanship.
Chief Guest Inaugurates the Event
Captain Amitabh, Head of Skill Development at Tata Steel Foundation, was the Chief Guest for the opening ceremony. During his tenure with the Indian Armed Forces, he participated in significant operations such as OP-Rakshak, OP-Vijay, OP-Meghdoot, and OP-Parakram. In addition to his military career, he is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the CII National Committee on Skills, the General Body of the National Instructional Media Institute (NIMI), and the State Council of Vocational Training in Jharkhand. Captain Amitabh also serves on the governing committees of various institutions, including Tata Main Hospital’s Nursing College and the Centre for Hearing Impaired Children (CHIC).
Lighting the Torch of Sportsmanship
The Chief Guest lit the lamp of sportsmanship, marking the symbolic start of the event. Torch bearers—students who are regional and national-level players—proudly carried the torch. These students included Shubh Agarahari, A. Sagar, Tejas Das, Karandeep Singh, Khushi, Kabita Singh, Chirag Kishore, Vansh Poddar, Anushka Kumari, Namrata Kumari, Kapish Pandey, Tanmay Moonka, Vaishnabi Rai, Mariya Fatima, Vaishnavi Gupta, Anas Akhtar, Md. Sajid, Yuvraj Singh, Nischal Kumar, Taranjeet Singh, Aneek Dutta, and Varun Raj.
Spectacular Performances by Students
The students of classes III and IV showcased an energetic and colorful drill performance. The display was a true celebration of teamwork, discipline, and enthusiasm, as the young performers synchronized their movements with remarkable precision, reflecting not just their physical coordination but also their dedication and hard work.
The Karate and Yoga performances further impressed the audience with their strength and grace, demonstrating the students’ physical capabilities and mental focus. Special children participated in carom and chess tournaments, with medals and certificates awarded for their outstanding performances.

Closing Ceremony
The prizes for the various sporting events were distributed by Mrs. Nandini Shukla, Principal of Kerala Samajam Model School, who was the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony. The stadium echoed with loud cheers and shouts of victory as the event drew to a close. The 31st Annual Sports Day concluded with the National Anthem, marking the successful end of a day full of sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and achievement.
