Jamshedpur : The Great Jharkhand Run and the one-day 4th Master Athletic Championship 2024, organized under the auspices of the Master Athletic Association of Jharkhand, will take place at the JRD Tata Sports Complex tomorrow.
For the first time, participation of school children along with master athletes has been ensured in this competition.
The Great Jharkhand Run will be held in two categories – 2 Km and 3 Km .
President of Jharkhand Athletic Association, Vijay Singh said that players from 30 plus age group to 85 plus age group are going to participate in 10 age groups in both male and female categories.
In the events, mainly races of 100 m, 400 m, 800 m, 3 short walks, shot put, discus, javelin throw, long jump, triple jump would be organised.
In the women’s category, 100 meter race, 200 meter race, 1 kilometer walk, long jump, shot put throw, discus throw and javelin would be organised.
Participants from 17 districts across Jharkhand have shown their interest in participating in the competition.
More than 1000 participants and 120 technical officials would participate in the championship.
Such an event has been organized for the first time in Jamshedpur. The organizing committee has made arrangements for accommodation for the guest players coming from far away places
The organizing committee will provide T-shirts to all the participants participating in the competition, along with participation medals, the winning participants will also be given certificates along with gold, silver and bronze medals.
Great Jharkhand Run will be completed in a total of 10 categories especially for the age group of 12 to 85 years.
In the men’s category, there will be a 3- Km race for the age group between 12 years to 50 years, while on the other hand, there will be a 2 – Km run in the 50 to 62 plus age group.
In the women’s category, a 2 Km run will be organized in the age group of 18 to 40 years.
