Jharkhand elections exit poll to come this evening

UDIT VANI Ranchi / Jamshedpur : As the polling ends for the second and final phase today, the stage is set for exit polls that will be announced this evening after 6 pm.

The trend of showing exit polls after the end of voting in every election started in way back in 1998.In this sequence, after the second and final phase of Jharkhand Assembly elections is over on Wednesday, the results of the exit poll will be made public in the evening.

Preparations have been made by various agencies for the exit polls.The exit polls will indicate how many seats can a party get in the election.Altogether, 1211 candidates were in the fray in state election for a total of 81 assembly seats.The first phase saw polling in 43 assembly constituencies on November 13 while elections in the second phase today saw polling in 38 seats.

What is an Exit Poll :

This is a data prepared on the basis of survey done by conversing with voters. Which party they voted . Exit polls gives a hint as to the wind is in favour of which party.Representatives of various agencies that collects votes for the exit poll ask the people who come to vote outside the polling station, which party or candidate they voted for.

There are some rules for exit polls. The agency has to take prior permission from the Election Commission for this.While showing the results of exit polls, it has to be clearly stated that these are mere estimates. Not the actual result.

The actual result will come after counting of votes and will be released by the Election Commission.Exit polls can be shown only at least two hours after voting ends.For the first time in 1998, a private news channel broadcast an exit poll. Nowadays exit polls are conducted by many agencies.The exit poll that is going to come this evening regarding Jharkhand polls will tell which party is winning which seat .Alongwith the seats, information will be given about the vote percentage, lead of the alliance candidate and political equation.
