UditVani, Jamshedpur: Tata Steel celebrated the fifth edition of its prestigious SHE Excellence Awards at the Archery Ground, JRD Tata Sports Complex, with the theme, “Embrace, Evolve, Excel.”
The event showcased the company’s dedication to fostering a culture centered on Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE), aligned with its vision of accountability and sustainable practices.
Recognizing Leadership in Safety and Sustainability
Launched in FY20, the SHE Excellence Awards aim to acknowledge and inspire employees demonstrating leadership and dedication in the SHE domain. Tata Steel’s CEO and Managing Director, TV Narendran, served as the Chief Guest for the event. In his keynote address, he emphasized safety as a core value and encouraged participants to embrace challenges, evolve responsibly, and excel in creating a positive impact on people and the planet.
The ceremony featured a musical performance by *The Great Indian Choir*, blending Indian classical and contemporary hits, orchestrated by Prakash Wadekar and Arti Wara. A special tribute was paid to Ratan N Tata, honoring his exemplary leadership and commitment to ethical and sustainable practices.
Marking a step toward inclusivity, the 2024 awards introduced runner-up categories to encourage continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.

Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, President of Tata Workers’ Union, applauded the initiative’s growing standards and emphasized inclusivity by recognizing the contributions of vendor partners, particularly workers and supervisors at the grassroots level.
