UditVani, Jamshedpur: In a unique educational initiative, a group of high school students from RVS Academy visited MGM Government Hospital today (30th November 2024), to gain firsthand experience of how public healthcare systems function.
The visit was part of the school’s effort to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.
A Journey through the Hospital
During their visit, the students had the opportunity to tour several key departments of the hospital, including the emergency ward, paediatric unit, and pharmacy. They interacted with doctors and healthcare workers, gaining valuable insights into patient care, hospital operations, and the challenges faced by public hospitals.
Bridging Theory and Practice
The visit was designed to provide students with practical exposure that extends beyond the classroom setting. According to the Vice-Principal, “This initiative is about fostering community awareness among youth. It shows them that learning can take place outside of textbooks, helping them realize that there is much more to knowledge than what is taught in the classroom.”
An Eye-Opening Experience
For many students, the visit proved to be an eye-opener. Krishna Patra, a student from RVS Academy, shared his thoughts: “This visit helped us understand the importance of public health services. It inspired some of us to think about pursuing careers in healthcare.”

The Chairman of RVS Academy, Binda Singh, emphasized the significance of the trip, stating, “This visit was a truly unique and educational experience. It revealed to the students the importance of new approaches to work and problem-solving. We believe this experience marks a turning point in the students’ lives, helping them grow and explore new directions.”
