Udit Vani Dubai: India is making significant strides in the global plastics and petrochemical industries as it takes center stage at the 17th edition of ArabPlast, West Asia’s premier trade exhibition. Officially opened in Dubai, the three-day event features over 750 exhibitors from 12 international pavilions, showcasing their latest innovations in plastics, recycling, and petrochemicals.
India’s delegation, led by the Plastics Export Promotion Council (PLEXCONCIL), is one of the largest, comprising 125 companies—marking a 70% increase in participation compared to previous editions. This impressive presence underscores India’s growing role in the global plastics industry.
PLEXCONCIL Chairman Vikram Bhaduria emphasized the expanding opportunities under the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). He further highlighted that India’s plastic exports to the UAE, valued at $620 million, continue to rise, cementing India’s position as a key player in sustainable manufacturing.
