UditVani , Jamshedpur : The state of Jharkhand is set for a shift in weather pattern as the remnant of severe cyclonic storm Montha continues to influence its eastern fringes.
Forecast summary
1 November (Sat): Shallow to moderate fog or mist will likely linger in the early morning hours across most parts of the state. As the day progresses, expect a partly cloudy sky. In the eastern districts, isolated light rain or thundershower is likely. The remainder of the state should remain dry.
November 2 to 5 November (Sun–Wed): Each morning will bring shallow to moderate fog/mist, followed by mainly clear skies and dry conditions through the day across Jharkhand. Minimal chance of rainfall in most areas.
Synoptic Driver & Regional Highlight
A marked low-pressure area (the remnant circulation of Cyclonic Storm Montha) currently sits over east Vidarbha and adjoining south Chhattisgarh.
This system shows a cyclonic circulation extending up to about 7.6 Km above mean sea level.
It is expected to drift north-north-west into east Madhya Pradesh and adjoining north Chhattisgarh over the next 24 hours, weakening into a low-pressure area in the process.
Because of this, eastern Jharkhand may still feel indirect effects (moisture, instability) on November 1 – hence the likelihood of isolated showers or thunderstorms.
Once the system drifts away and weakens, the state will transition into quieter, dry conditions for the remainder of the forecast period.
