
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand continued to experience dry weather conditions with a noticeable rise in daytime temperatures across several districts, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre, Ranchi.
The report, based on 8.30 am observations on February 12, shows that no rainfall was recorded anywhere in the state during the past 24 hours.
Chaibasa (PTO) recorded the highest maximum temperature at 33.2°C, which is 5.0°C above normal, making it the hottest place in the state.
Jamshedpur followed closely with a maximum of 31.7°C, 2.6°C above normal, while Daltonganj registered 31.6°C, showing a sharp departure of 3.4°C above normal. Seraikela also remained warm at 32.7°C. In the capital, Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 27.2°C, 1.2°C above normal, with a slight rise of 0.2°C over the previous day.
Night temperatures, however, remained relatively cool in many parts of the state.
Gumla AWS recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 8.1°C. Ranchi recorded a minimum of 10.8°C, which is 1.5°C below normal.
Jamshedpur’s minimum settled at 13.6°C, while Daltonganj recorded 9.0°C. Several districts including Khunti (8.5°C), Hazaribagh (9.9°C), Lohardaga (9.5°C) and Pakur (10.6°C) reported cool night conditions.
Other prominent readings included Bokaro AWS at 29.5°C (min 10.1°C), Deoghar AWS at 28.8°C, Baharagora AWS at 31.0°C, Koderma AWS at 27.7°C (min 12.5°C), Latehar AWS at 22.3°C (min 13.1°C), Ranchi (Aero) AWS at 26.6°C (min 12.5°C) and Bano Simdega AWS at 29.8°C (min 10.8°C).
Visibility dropped to 2000 metres at Jamshedpur (MO), marking the lowest visibility recorded in the state.
With clear skies and no rainfall activity, the state is witnessing warmer days typical of a seasonal transition, while mornings and nights continue to remain pleasant in several regions.
