UditVani, Jamshedpur : The first renovation ceremony of the Shri Laxminarayan Temple (popularly known as Birla Mandir) in Cable Town, Jamshedpur, was celebrated with great devotion and spiritual fervor on Monday.
The occasion marked one year since the commencement of the temple’s ongoing restoration work.
To mark this milestone, special religious rituals were performed by a group of 11 learned priests.

The rituals began at 9:30 am with a Shanti Path followed by Gauri-Ganesh Puja, invoking the blessings of Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, Goddess Kali, and the entire Shiva family.
Devotees also recited the Durga Saptashati in front of the idol of Goddess Kali.
The worship concluded with a sacred Rudrabhishek and the Vishnu Sahasranama recitation by the priests as the main Laxminarayan Puja was performed.
The chief yajmans (ritual sponsors) for the ceremony were Saket Gautam and his wife, while Amrita Mishra, Mamta Singh, and Nagendra Singh participated as associate yajmans.
The day-long religious ceremony ended with Havan, Aarti, Pushpanjali, and the distribution of Bhog and Prasad to all present.

Notably, former minister and MLA of Jamshedpur West, Saryu Roy, who also serves as the convenor of the Temple Renovation Committee, personally served the bhog and prasad to the priests.
The team of priests included Vinod Pandey, Prakash Pandey (aka Dhanji), Ajay Tiwari, Rakesh Ojha, Shyam Mishra, Virendra Tiwari, Rajesh Upadhyay, Dheeraj Pandey, Praveen Vaidik, and Ghanshyam Mishra. The rituals continued till 4 pm in the evening.
Saryu Roy Announces Upcoming Installation of Kali Yantra and Shri Yantra
Addressing the gathering, MLA Saryu Roy expressed satisfaction over the progress made in temple restoration over the past year and said much work remains.
He emphasized that the temple is being developed into a hub for pure spiritual activities.
He also highlighted the initiative to educate the general public about the intricacies of Vedic rituals so that they participate in religious ceremonies with true devotion and understanding—rather than merely following priestly instructions.
He further informed that sacred installations of Kali Yantra and Shri Yantra will soon be carried out in the temple complex following due rituals.
These spiritual elements, he said, will enrich the sanctity and energy of the temple, guiding devotees toward deeper faith and meaningful worship.
