UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand is in grip of intense cold as sub-10 chill prevailed in the entire state today except for Godda.
Weathermen attributed the intense cold to crisp and cold dominating north – westerly wind blowing from the northern parts of the country.
Snowfalls in Jammu and Kashmir and several other places in northern India has triggered flow of cold wind.
” We don’t see any adverse whether condition which might impact Jharkhand’s weather in the next 2 to 3 days. Most districts would witness clear sky with sub-10 chill, ” said a duty officer at Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
Statistics revealed that Ranchi today recorded minimum temperature of 8 degree Celsius while Jamshedpur recorded 9.8 degree Celsius.
The IMD observatory at Daltonganj today recorded a minimum temperature of 7.4 degree Celsius while Bokaro Steel City recorded a minimum temperature of 8.1 degree Celsius.
Minimum temperature dropped to 8 degree Celsius at several places in Kolhan including Chaibasa in neighbouring West Singhbhum.
The minimum temperature plummeted to 4.5 degree Celsius at Chatra while Deoghar and Dhanbad recorded minimum temperature of around 6.5 degree Celsius today.
Hazaribagh today recorded a minimum temperature of 6.9 degree Celsius while adjoining Khunti recorded 5.3 degree Celsius.
According to Met statistics Lohardaga today recorded a minimum temperature of 6.4 degree Celsius while Pakur recorded 8.6 degrees.
Simdega recorded minimum temperature of 6.3 degree Celsius while Ramgarh today recorded minimum temperature of 7.3 degree Celsius.
According to Met statistics only Godda district was a bit warmer with the local observatory recording a minimum temperature of 11.6 degree Celsius today.
