The year 2024 has passed, but the year has left countless stories of struggle and success between Jamshedpur Police and criminals.
From peaceful conduct of Lok Sabha and Assembly polls to prompt detection of heinous crimes, Jamshedpur Police did a remarkable job.
The district police is led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishore Kaushal, known for his efficient leadership abilities, for the last two years.
He alongwith his subordinates superintendent of police (Rural) Rishabh Garg, City SP Kumar Shivashish, and other DSP’s has displayed excellent teamwork.
2024: Crime and its Assessment
Last year Jamshedpur saw 81 murders, 2 cases of dacoities, 18 robberies, 88 snatchings, 126 house- breaks, 297 thefts, 339 road mishaps, 89 rapes, 69 cases under the Narcotics Act, 49 cases under the Arms Act, 33 extortion and 78 cases of violation of Excise laws.
Cases were registered and in all suchl cases, the police acted fast and put the criminals behind bars.
Peaceful Conduct of Lok Sabha and Assembly Polls
Jamshedpur was considered sensitive in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections held in 2024.
Under the leadership of SSP Kishore Kaushal, the police adopted a strict strategy.
Additional forces were deployed in sensitive areas and every activity was closely monitored.
The result was that both the elections were conducted in a peaceful and fair manner.
Campaign Against Drugs
Jamshedpur police had launched a large-scale campaign against drugs in 2024.
Drugs were seized and destroyed in large quantity. Additionally, a gang that was stealing from rural government liquor shops was also targeted. The arrest of the gang saved revenue extensively.
Detection of Heinous Crimes
In December 2024, a case of murder of a Congress leader came to light at Shastrinagar block number 4 in Kadma.
The police cracked the case within 48 hours and sent the criminals to jail. Similarly, the case of robbery at MB Jewelers in Sonari on 24 May ,2024 was solved within a fortnight by June 3. The police not only arrested the criminals but also recovered the stolen jewellery.

Behind all breakthroughs teamwork and efficient leadership was the key.
City SP Kumar Shivashish played crucial role in various operations and took swift action in sensitive cases. Rishabh Garg worked to crack down on criminals in rural areas.
