UditVani, Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur FC will lock horns with Mumbai City FC in a high-stake Indian Super League ( ISL ) clash at Mumbai Football Arena tomorrow , January 12.
The match starts at 7:30 pm.
With just a single point separating the two sides, the match promises to be a thrilling contest as both teams vie for crucial points in their quest for a top four finish in the Indian Super League table.
Jamshedpur come int ino this match on the back of a 2-1 comeback victory over Bengaluru FC at the Furnace. Jordan Murray’s overhead kick in the 84th minute and Mohammed Uvais’s winner in the 90th minute gave Men of Steel crucial points at the Furnace
Currently sitting fourth with 24 points from 13 matches, Jamshedpur have displayed remarkable form, particularly at home.
However, their away performances have left room for improvement, something head coach Khalid Jamil is acutely aware of.
“We need to focus on our game and that’s the most important thing. Playing a good away match is crucial because we haven’t performed well on the road this season. This time, we have to step up and stay positive to achieve the result we need, ” said Jamil.
Mumbai City FC, on the other hand, are sixth with 23 points from 14 matches. After a shaky start to the season, the Islanders have shown signs of resurgence with a win in their previous outing.
With a wealth of talent in their squad, they remain a formidable opponent, especially on home turf.
For Jamshedpur, the defensive coordination has been a highlight in recent matches, despite injuries and rotations in the backline.
Pratik Choudhari, a key figure in defence, credited the team’s unity and coaching efforts. “We have a great group of players, and the coach has been working closely with us as a defensive unit,” said Choudhari.
The match will be live on Jio Cinema and Sports 18 Channel.
