Uditvani, Jamshedpur : The city of Jamshedpur was infused with powerful ideas and transformative energy as the fourth edition of TEDxBistupur unfolded at the prestigious Russi Mody Centre for Excellence. With the compelling theme, “The Power of Why,” this year’s event brought together 14 changemakers from diverse spheres who showcased the profound impact of questioning, curiosity, and courage in driving meaningful change.
Curated by social entrepreneur Gaurav Anand, founder of Swachhatapukare Foundation, TEDxBistupur 2025 proved to be more than just a platform for ideas — it became a celebration of resilience, leadership, creativity, and purpose. Each speaker, a trailblazer in their field, shared stories that highlighted how asking “why” has the potential to ignite revolutions, spark innovation, and empower communities.
A Stage of Purpose and Passion
The event commenced with Sunil Nataraj, an Everester and ADHD warrior, whose tale of conquering physical and emotional mountains struck a deep chord with the audience. His message on inner discipline and persistence set the tone for an evening steeped in inspiration.
Humanitarian and Go Dharmic founder Hanuman Dass followed, sharing a deeply moving reflection on compassion, urging the audience to serve humanity with kindness and inclusivity.
Capt. D.C. Sekhar, maritime expert turned tech entrepreneur, narrated his transition from ocean expeditions to robotics, emphasizing that true leadership thrives when rooted in purpose.
Tech and strategy expert Nitin Surendra Sahai, with his vast experience in consulting, highlighted how the seamless blend of engineering and vision fuels modern enterprise success, adding a crucial corporate perspective to the narrative.
Young Voices, Strong Visions
Among the most stirring talks was that of teenage changemaker Girik Gupta, founder of Celebrate Smiles. His initiative redefines traditional celebrations by adding meaning and community impact — a reminder that age is no bar when passion leads.
Sunita Thawani, CEO of Full Circle and former Tata Steel executive, championed women’s empowerment through workplace reintegration programs like JuscoWomen@Work.
Her impassioned plea for inclusivity and confidence for returning women professionals drew standing ovations.
Mental health expert Mokshita Gautam emphasized emotional well-being, breaking stigma with empathy and education. Health coach Sangeeta Narayan brought attention to the overlooked power of nutrition and physical wellness, stressing that food is more than fuel — it’s therapy.
Innovation, Sustainability, and Cultural Revival
Serial entrepreneur Kaushik Ghosh captivated listeners with his journey across industries, advocating for adaptability in an ever-evolving business world. Puneet Modani, sustainability leader and founder of KSP Hydri, delivered a powerful talk on environmentally responsible entrepreneurship, reinforcing the need for green innovation.
Kislay Komal, founder of ARTSofINDIA.in, sparked cultural pride with her efforts to preserve India’s rich artistic heritage.
Equally mesmerizing was Sakshi Bharadwaj, the force behind Jungle Vase, whose transformation of a local dumping ground into a vibrant urban forest proved that environmental miracles can begin with small steps and big dreams.
Student prodigy Samarth Pandey brought the house to tears and cheers with his journey from a small town to earning a coveted scholarship from The Knowledge Society (TKS).
His story underscored that brilliance thrives where belief is nurtured.

The grand finale belonged to Coral Bhamra — an actor, singer, and performer — whose dance and storytelling transcended words. Her presence was electric, her performance poetic.
Through rhythm and melody, she painted a picture of healing, resistance, and universal truth.
Musical interludes by violinist and host Arun Patrick D’Silva and guitarist Arijit Shaw elevated the event’s atmosphere, weaving soul and harmony between powerful speeches.
