UditVani, Jamshedpur: XLRI has announced the official GD and PI cutoffs for XAT 2026 following the release of scorecards, marking a decisive moment for management aspirants across the country.
The cutoffs apply to its flagship programmes—PGDM (Business Management), PGDM (Business Management–International Specialization), and PGDM (Human Resource Management)—and reaffirm the institute’s commitment to excellence, ethics, and leadership with purpose.
For the PGDM (BM) and PGDM (BM–International Specialization) programmes, XLRI has maintained identical percentile thresholds and a common GD and PI process.
Engineer and non-engineer male candidates must secure an overall percentile of 94 or above, while female and third-gender candidates require a minimum of 88. Sectional cutoffs across Quantitative Ability, Verbal and Logical Ability, and Decision Making remain mandatory, underlining the importance of balanced aptitude and sound judgment.
The PGDM (HRM) programme cutoffs reflect XLRI’s distinctive focus on people-centric leadership and ethical decision-making.
Engineering male candidates must score at least 92 overall, while non-engineering male candidates require 90.
Female and third-gender candidates have comparatively lower thresholds, recognizing diversity in academic backgrounds while ensuring that shortlisted candidates meet the programme’s rigorous standards.
During the 2026–27 admissions cycle, XLRI is expected to interview approximately 4,000 to 4,500 candidates across its campuses.
The selection process is designed to be holistic, evaluating intellectual ability, communication skills, ethical reasoning, leadership potential, and overall programme fit.
Speaking on the admissions philosophy, Prof. Rahul K. Shukla, Convenor of XAT 2026 and Admissions, stated that the objective is to admit individuals who demonstrate not only academic strength but also the capacity to contribute meaningfully to organizations and society.
With its transparent and values-driven selection framework, XLRI continues to attract aspiring leaders prepared to navigate complex business environments while creating lasting social impact.
