UditVani,Jamshedpur: Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) Sport Climbing Academy athletes scripted history at the 29th IMF East Zone Sport Climbing Championship 2025 by winning 52 out of 54 medals, including a clean sweep of all gold medals.
The championship was hosted from September 5 to 8 at the academy’s home turf — the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur.
Over 125 climbers from Jharkhand, West Bengal, Bihar, and Odisha competed across Sub Junior, Junior, and Open categories in Lead, Speed, and Bouldering events.
TSAF’s remarkable dominance underlined its reputation as the country’s premier climbing academy.
The closing ceremony was attended by Abhijit Avinash Nanoti, Managing Director, JCAPCPL, along with senior Tata Steel officials. Congratulating the winners, the guests commended their skill, discipline, and determination, while encouraging them to aim higher on national and international platforms.
JCAPCPL, as TSAF’s grassroots partner, has been instrumental in nurturing climbing talent through “Masti Ki Pathshala” centres, where nearly 300 children receive daily training. The partnership has also enabled Jamshedpur to host prestigious international tournaments such as the IFSC Asian Kids Sport Climbing Championships (2022, 2023) and the IFSC Asian Youth Sport Climbing Championship (2024).
In a testament to TSAF’s excellence, 30 athletes from this event secured berths for the national championship — with 29 hailing from TSAF alone. This overwhelming success cements the academy’s role in shaping India’s next generation of climbing champions.
