UditVani, Jamshedpur : Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has successfully commissioned NHPC Limited’s 450 MWp (DC) / 300 MW (AC) DCR-compliant solar power project at Karnisar Bhatiyan in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Completed in two and a half years, the project showcases TPREL’s strong execution capabilities in challenging desert terrain.
The project features around 7,75,000 advanced DCR and bifacial modules, all designed to maximise energy generation under extreme weather conditions. It is expected to generate 17,230 million units of green energy over its lifetime and offset over 1.38 crore tonnes of CO₂, supplying clean power to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL).
Over 300 local workers were employed during construction, and several local vendors benefited, boosting the region’s economy. With this project, TPREL’s total renewable utility capacity has reached 11.6 GW, with 5.8 GW currently operational.
The company is also supporting Rajasthan’s renewable expansion with DCR-compliant modules for upcoming SJVN and NLC projects, further strengthening India’s clean energy mission.
