Jamshedpur : The India Meteorological Department (IMD), through its Ranchi Meteorological Centre, has issued a forecast warning of thundershowers, hailstorms, and lightning across various parts of Jharkhand today.
Moderate rainfall is also expected in certain areas of northern Jharkhand. However, no weather alerts have been issued for any part of the state starting tomorrow, Saturday.
Residents in cities like Jamshedpur woke up to overcast skies this morning, setting the tone for a stormy day ahead.

Southern & East-Central Jharkhand:
Isolated places are likely to experience hailstorms accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds with speeds of 40–50 km/h.
Central & North-Central Jharkhand:
Thunderstorms and lightning, along with gusty winds reaching 30–40 km/h, are expected at isolated locations.
Synoptic Situation:
A Western Disturbance persists as a trough in the middle and upper tropospheric westerlies, with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level, stretching roughly along longitude 72°E, north of 26°N.
Additionally, a trough in easterlies extends from South Interior Karnataka to southwest Madhya Pradesh, passing over a cyclonic circulation centered in Marathwada at about 0.9 km above mean sea level.
