UditVani, Jamshedpur : The city is gearing up for a vibrant sporting spectacle as The Great Jharkhand Run has been officially announced for December 14 at 6 am, to be held at the iconic JRD Sports Complex.
The event aims to bring together fitness enthusiasts, professional runners, and citizens from across age groups to celebrate athletic spirit and community participation.
The run features cash prizes up to Rs 50,000, with top awards of Rs 2,500, Rs 1,500, and Rs 1,000 for the winners in respective categories.
Age Categories
The marathon is structured to ensure wide participation:
Men: 12–18, 18–30, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60+
Women: 12–19, 18–31, 30–40, 40+
Participants can register by scanning the QR code provided in the official announcement.
The last date of entry is December 8, giving athletes roughly two weeks to confirm their participation.
In addition to the main run, the event will also host the 5th Jharkhand Masters Athletics Championship on December 13-14, further enriching the sporting weekend.
Organised by the Masters Athletics Association of Jharkhand, the initiative is aligned with the theme “Sports: A Way of Life,” promoting health, discipline, and community engagement.
Jamshedpur is expected to witness high turnout as athletes and fitness lovers prepare to take part in one of the region’s biggest athletic gatherings of the year.
