For the first time, comedian and actor Nikki Glaser will host the annual Golden Globe Awards. Nikki Glaser is known for her sharp wit and bold humour. Glaser will be the first solo woman to host the awards show, in what is said to be the biggest night of her career.
All eyes will be on Indian director Payal Kapadia and her film ‘All We Imagine As Light’ at the Golden Globe Awards. Kapadia is nominated in the Best Director category, marking a first for an Indian filmmaker. If she wins, she could make history. However, the category is highly competitive this awards season, with no clear frontrunner.
‘All We Imagine As Light’ has also been nominated in the Best Motion Picture in a Non-English Language category.
Karla Sofía Gascón has made history as the first openly transgender woman to receive a nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Film (Emilia Pérez) at the Golden Globes. If she wins the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, she would become the first openly transgender performer to secure a win in a major acting category at the Globes.
