
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Police have arrested notorious criminal Teka Chaudhary in connection with the late-night firing incident outside the house of exiled gangster Guddu Pandey on Sanjay Path at Mango’s Dimna Road.
Chaudhary, a resident of Aastha Space Town in Mango, was caught with a pistol and several live cartridges.
According to police sources, Chaudhary and an accomplice arrived on a motorcycle late Monday night. After ringing the doorbell and hurling abuses, Chaudhary opened fire with pistols in both hands.
The entire act was captured on CCTV cameras. The sound of gun fire triggered panic in the locality.
Guddu Pandey was not at home during the incident, as he has been declared tadipaar (externed).
Family members rushed outside after hearing the gunshots, but the assailants had already fled.
Acting quickly, police conducted raids and arrested Chaudhary on Tuesday morning.
Investigations revealed that Chaudhary had earlier been jailed in connection with the murder of dreaded criminal Amarnath Singh and was currently out on bail. He is believed to be associated with the Ganesh Singh gang.
Guddu Pandey’s father, Bijendra Pandey, lodged a written complaint at Ulidih police station against Teka Chaudhary alias Deepak Chaudhary and another unidentified accused. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the second suspect.
