Udit Vani, Jamshedpur : A joint team of Tatanagar RPF and GRP has busted an interstate gang involved in duping passengers at Tatanagar Railway Station. Three gang members, all residents of Delhi, were arrested and sent to judicial custody on Thursday.
The accused have been identified as Sachin (19), Rafiqul (23), and Md. Amin Sheikh (23), all from Bhorgarh, Delhi.
Acting on a tip-off, a special flying squad of the RPF and GRP conducted a raid at Tatanagar station and apprehended the three individuals. The operation was led by RPF ASI Balveer Pradas. During the search, police recovered three bundles of counterfeit currency notes, two mobile phones, a fake Aadhaar card, and Rs. 3,150 in cash.
Providing joint information, GRP Station Officer Ram Prayare Ram and RPF Officer Balveer Prasadan stated that the operation was carried out under the directions of RPF Chakradharpur Division Senior Commandant P. Shankar Kutty and Jamshedpur Railway Police Superintendent Praveen Pushkar.
The arrested individuals are accused of deceiving passengers by showing them bundles of counterfeit notes, stealing their mobile phones and ATM cards, and illegally withdrawing money using the PINs.
All three have been sent to judicial custody, and further investigation is underway.
