
UditVani, Jamshedpur : The long-anticipated integrated redevelopment of Tatanagar Railway Station officially began on Saturday with a ceremonial Bhoomi Poojan performed by SER GM Anil Kumar Mishra, MP Vidyutvaran Mahato, and DRM Tarun Huriya. The ₹284 crore project is slated for completion in 36 months.
The station will see its platforms increase from five to nine, with 16 lifts and 14 escalators for passenger convenience. The circulating area will expand from 8,000 sq. meters to 35,000 sq. meters, and parking space from 8,000 to 41,000 sq. meters.

A G+6 main building and G+3 secondary entry will house a commercial complex, gaming zone, multiplex, and modern shopping facilities, transforming Tatanagar into a world-class, passenger-centric hub.
MP Mahato highlighted that the station will rise from an ‘A’ to an ‘A Plus’ category, with increased train capacity. He also stressed the development of satellite stations and new rail and road overbridges to manage future traffic efficiently.
Within three years, Tatanagar Railway Station will emerge as a modern, state-of-the-art landmark, offering world-class amenities to passengers.
