
UditVani, Jamshedpur: Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited (TSDPL), Kalinganagar, has been honoured with the prestigious Kalinga Safety Excellence Award – Platinum Category for the year 2024–25.
The award has been presented by the Institute of Quality & Environment Management Services (IQEMS), Odisha, under the aegis of the Directorate of Factories & Boilers, Government of Odisha.
The recognition underscores TSDPL’s exceptional safety practices and culture, following a rigorous three-stage evaluation comprising a detailed application, online presentation and onsite assessment by an expert jury.
This year, over 100 organisations from across India participated in the competition.
The award ceremony, held in Bhubaneswar on 19–20 November, was graced by Hon’ble Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, Surma Padhi, and Member of Parliament, Jajpur, Dr. R.N. Behera.
Rajesh Chaudhary, Chief, TSDPL Kalinganagar plant, received the award in the presence of Agam Kumar, Chief – Safety, Tinplate & Metaliks Division.
Expressing his delight, he said:
“This recognition reaffirms our unwavering focus on safety excellence. We are continuously advancing safety through digitalisation, automation, enhanced camera surveillance, safety fencing, preventive maintenance initiatives, and behavioural transformation programmes — strengthening a robust safety culture across the plant.”
