
UditVani,Jamshedpur : Tata Steel’s Joda West Iron & Manganese Mine in Keonjhar district and Ferro Alloys Plant (FAP) at Gopalpur, Ganjam district, have been honoured with the coveted CII SHE Excellence Awards at the 19th Safety Symposium & Exposition, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Eastern Region in Kolkata.
The two-day event brought together industry leaders to promote health, safety, and environmental (SHE) excellence.
Joda West Iron & Manganese Mine, under Tata Steel’s Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division (FAMD), bagged State Level and Regional Level Winner Awards in the Mining category for its consistent commitment to building a safe and sustainable workplace. The awards were received by Rajesh Kumar Ranjan, Head of the Manganese Group of Mines, and Pulluri Shashank, Area Manager (Safety), FAMD.
Similarly, FAP Gopalpur was adjudged State Level Winner and Regional Level 1st Runner-Up in the Large-Scale Manufacturing category (employees up to 2,500), recognising its strong focus on safety innovation and employee well-being. The awards were accepted by Atla Rambabu, Head of Safety (FAMD), and Balram Mishra, Manager (Safety), FAP Gopalpur.
The theme of this year’s Safety Symposium & Exposition – “Innovate HSE – Elevate Wellness” – aligns seamlessly with Tata Steel’s philosophy of integrating innovative safety measures with employee wellness as the foundation of sustainable operations.
This recognition underscores Tata Steel’s leadership in safety management, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable growth and responsible mining and manufacturing practices.
