
Udit Vani Jamshedpur : TP Solar Limited, the manufacturing arm of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has surpassed 4 GW in solar module production at its Tamil Nadu plant.
As of May 31, 2025, the facility has produced 4049 MW of modules and 1441 MW of solar cells.
The plant, built to meet Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) norms, manufactures advanced Mono PERC and TopCon modules using AI-driven automation. In FY26, TP Solar targets 3.7 GW of cell output and 3.725 GW of module production, supporting India’s push for 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
With a rated capacity of 4.3 GW, the plant supplies panels for Tata Power’s utility-scale, rooftop, and hybrid energy projects, as well as third-party installations.
Notably, over 80% of the workforce are women, and the facility follows green building and sustainable manufacturing practices.
TPREL also operates a fully utilized 682 MW module and 530 MW cell plant in Bengaluru, further strengthening Tata Power’s role in India’s clean energy value chain.
