UditVani, Jamshedpur : A tragic accident occurred on Saturday morning along the Tata–Chaibasa state highway near Chaliyama under Rajnagar police station area, when a speeding Hyva truck lost control and overturned onto an e-rickshaw travelling ahead.
Two passengers died on the spot, while three others sustained critical injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital by local residents.
Eyewitnesses reported that the Hyva suddenly became unbalanced before crashing over the e-rickshaw, sparking chaos and fear among bystanders.
Police teams promptly reached the site, initiated rescue efforts and began clearing the vehicle from the roadway.
The accident triggered a long traffic jam, forcing authorities to regulate vehicular movement for smooth passage. Meanwhile, the truck driver reportedly fled the scene.
Police have launched a search operation and are investigating the cause of the crash.
The incident has heightened concerns among locals about the increasing number of road mishaps on this stretch.
Officials have assured that additional monitoring and safety measures will be implemented to prevent such tragic incidents in future.
