UditVani, Jamshedpur : A specialised sports psychology workshop was conducted at the Tata Football Academy for Jamshedpur FC’s U18 squad as they prepare for their Elite Youth League campaign.
Titled Mind x Body = Link to Elite Performance, the session aimed to strengthen the crucial connection between a player’s thoughts and actions on the field.
Emphasising the principle that every movement in football begins in the mind, the workshop featured practical, football-specific activities designed to sharpen focus, boost confidence, and improve decision-making under pressure.

Players took part in exercises that required finishing without overthinking, executing skills amid loud distractions, juggling while answering rapid-fire questions, and reacting instantly to visual cues. They also explored how intention and mindset influence the quality of their dribbling. Each drill showcased how shifts in attention and emotional state can impact timing, accuracy, technique, and composure.
As the squad steps into a more competitive environment, this psychological conditioning is expected to significantly enhance their readiness for high-pressure moments. By understanding how thoughts shape performance, players are learning to regulate themselves better, stay composed, and make quicker, smarter decisions.
The workshop has reinforced the importance of mental conditioning as an integral part of player development, helping the young squad build psychological resilience alongside their technical and tactical growth on the road to Elite Youth League success.
