UditVani, Jamshedpur : The exposure of a mini gun factory operating in Sonari police station limits has taken a serious turn, with police intensifying action against the Sardar gang, which was allegedly running an organised racket involving illegal arms manufacturing, ganja and liquor under the cover of a nut-bolt supply business.
Following massive seizures, the police have increased legal pressure on the absconding accused by pasting proclamation notices at their residences.
The revelation of the illegal operation in Tillu Bhatta Basti had earlier sent shockwaves across the locality.
Investigations revealed that the prime accused, Sameer Sardar, along with his associates, was manufacturing country-made firearms using lathe machines and a furnace.

During the raid, the police recovered nine live 7.65 mm cartridges, one country-made pistol, three lathe machines, iron tools, a furnace, 1,400 grams of ganja, cash amounting to Rs 2,41,600, four mobile phones, and a large quantity of liquor bottles.
According to sources, the trail of this network surfaced during the investigation of a case registered in Patna.
Acting on specific inputs, a police team reached Jamshedpur and conducted a raid at Tillu Bhatta Basti.
The operation was carried out under the directives of the Senior Superintendent of Police and led by CSR DSP Manoj Thakur.
Officials were reportedly stunned by the scale of the recovery.
Sonari police have initiated proclamation proceedings against absconding named accused Sameer Sardar (around 35 years) and Manoj Kerai alias Manish Kerai (around 31 years).
Proclamation notices were served at their houses with public announcements.
The police have directed both accused to surrender before the court by February 10, failing which attachment of property proceedings will be initiated.

More major revelations are expected in the coming days.
