
UditVani,Jamshedpur : The NSS unit of Sona Devi University, Ghatshila, carried out a fund-raising campaign in Mou Bhandar and Ghatshila market areas to support victims of recent floods in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
NSS Nodal Officer Patrie Mali informed that six dedicated teams of students, guided by university faculty, conducted door-to-door collections across Mou Bhandar, Gurudwara Road, Dahi Goda, Ghatshila Market, and Station Road.
Through their efforts, a total of ₹10,039 was raised, which will be deposited in the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for immediate assistance to affected families.

Chancellor Prabhakar Singh lauded the initiative, expressing pride in the students’ sense of responsibility.
He emphasized that such efforts reflect true citizenship and play a vital role in nation-building, adding that these values strengthen both the students’ character and the university’s identity.
The campaign highlighted the commitment of NSS volunteers to extend help beyond their community and stand with people in times of crisis.
