Udit Vani, Jamshedpur : In a swift breakthrough, the Seraikela-Kharsawan Police have solved the June 1 shooting incident in Saldih Basti under Adityapur police station within 24 hours, arresting four accused along with illegal firearms.
The incident took place around 7 pm on June 1, when miscreants shot and seriously injured Dipankar Bhuiya in Tripurari Colony, Saldiha Basti.
An FIR (Adityapur PS Case No. 161/2025) was registered under Section 109 of the BNS-2023 and Section 27 of the Arms Act. A special team was formed under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Seraikela to identify and apprehend the unknown culprits.
Arrested Accused:
1. Mohit Pramanik alias Chhotku (21), son of Subhash Pramanik, resident near Bajrang Club, Saldiha Basti
2. Sujal Adhikari alias Sujal Bacha alias Bodu (21), son of Gopal Adhikari, resident near Mansa Mandir, Manjhi Tola
3. Rohit Deshpande alias Chiku (22), son of Ramesh Deshpande, resident near Bajrang Club, Saldiha Basti
4. Jishu Gop (20), son of Ganesh Gop, resident of Chandni Chowk, Manjhi Tola
During interrogation, the accused confessed that the attack was an act of revenge. Mohit Pramanik planned the shooting with his friends to avenge a firing incident on his father that occurred in August 2024.
Seizures:
* One loaded pistol with magazine
* Two live 7.65 MM cartridges
* A black-grey Hero Splendor motorcycle (Reg. No. JH05DT 9883) used in the crime
Criminal History:
Accused Rohit Deshpande has a prior criminal record and was named in Adityapur PS Case No. 365/2024 under multiple serious sections of the BNS.
Raiding Team Included:
* Samir Sawaiya, SDPO, Seraikela
* Binod Tirkey, Officer-in-Charge, Adityapur PS
* Vipul Kumar Ojha (Investigating Officer), and other police officers along with armed personnel from Adityapur PS
The prompt and efficient action of the police team has successfully uncovered a premeditated act of revenge and brought the perpetrators to justice. Further investigation is underway.
