UditVani, Jamshedpur : The Shri Shri Bal Mandir committee, which has been organizing Durga Puja and Ram Navami in Sakchi Market for the last five decades, has raised concern over the mushrooming of unauthorized stalls during the festive period.
Committee secretary and license holder Suman Agrawal said that in the past 4–5 years, illegal stalls have been cropping up on the designated immersion route on Vijayadashami, creating serious hurdles in the smooth passage of the idol immersion procession.
Agrawal pointed out that despite repeatedly informing the district administration, no strict action has been taken to prevent such encroachments. He added that even though the immersion route is finalized every year with the approval of both the administration and the Puja committee, unauthorized vendors continue to set up shop on the path.
According to him, encroachers begin putting up stalls from Navami midnight, leading to chaos and congestion. He demanded clarity on who permits such markets and urged the authorities to act against those responsible.
Calling for strict enforcement, Agrawal appealed to the district administration to ensure no footpath stalls are allowed in Sakchi Market during Durga Puja and Vijayadashami. He stressed that administrative support is essential to conduct the Puja celebrations and immersion peacefully and without disruption.
