
UditVani, Jamshedpur: The countdown has begun for the much-awaited South Asian Athletics Federation (SAAF) Games 2025, set to kick off in Ranchi from October 24.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren will formally inaugurate the sporting event in a grand ceremony that promises to showcase the rich culture and spirit of Jharkhand.
The championship will be held from October 24 to 26 at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium in Ranchi.
The opening ceremony will feature a colorful cultural extravaganza, blending traditional and contemporary performances by local artists and troupes.
Officials said that the event will highlight the state’s cultural diversity and hospitality while setting the tone for days of exciting sporting action.
Athletes from several South Asian nations are expected to participate, making Ranchi the center of attention in regional athletics.
The organizing committee, along with the Jharkhand government, has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the Games, including enhanced security, upgraded sports infrastructure, and special transport facilities for athletes and visitors.
Chief Minister Soren would address the gathering, encouraging athletes to compete in the spirit of unity, sportsmanship, and friendship.
The SAAF Games 2025 are expected to provide a major boost to Jharkhand’s profile as a growing hub for sports and youth development in India.
