
UditVani, Jamshedpur : The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West (RCJW) organized its annual installation ceremony, titled “Karwaan”, at Hotel Ramada today to ceremoniously induct the club’s new leadership team for the Rotary Year 2025–26.
The event celebrated not only the change in leadership but also the club’s enduring commitment to community service and responsible leadership.
The program commenced with the national anthem and traditional lighting of the lamp, setting a solemn and dignified tone.
The highlight of the evening was the formal handing over of responsibilities to the incoming office bearers.
The chief guest for the occasion was industrialist S.K. Behera, Managing Director of RSB Transmission.
Outgoing President Dr. Amit Mukherjee shared highlights of his tenure, expressed gratitude to his team, and extended best wishes to the new leadership.
Chief Guest Behera praised the club’s impactful initiatives, especially in aiding underprivileged communities.
The new President Rtn. Ashok Jha and Secretary Rtn. Naman Agarwal were formally installed by PDG Rtn. Pratim Banerjee, who also administered the oath to the rest of the executive team.
A commemorative souvenir (booklet) was released on the occasion by Behera along with the souvenir committee chair Rtn. Amitabh Bakshi.
Rtn. Sharad Chandra expressed confidence in the new team’s ability to uphold the club’s values and legacy of service. In his address, President Rtn. Ashok Jha thanked the outgoing team and reiterated his commitment to strengthening RCJW’s identity and outreach. He emphasized aligning all efforts with Rotary International’s theme for the year: “Unite for Good.”
The incoming team pledged to uphold the Rotary motto “Service Above Self”, promising to work with compassion, collaboration, and dedication to drive positive change in society.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Rtn. Gurpreet Bhatia, followed by the formal closure announcement by the Sergeant-at-Arms.
The event was seamlessly anchored by Rtn. Anjani Nidhi, and the overall event planning was led by Rtn. Suchanda, head of the organizing committee.
The ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests including D.B. Sundar Ramam (Vice President, Tata Steel), Ujjwal Chakravarty (EIC, Tinplate Division), PDG Rtn. R. Bharat, and several prominent industrialists, corporate leaders, and members of the Rotary fraternity.
