
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Marking Road Safety Month, Tata Steel SAFE Club, in collaboration with CII Young Indians (YI), today organised an impactful road safety awareness session for senior school students and college youth, featuring renowned road safety crusader Raghavendra Kumar, popularly known as the “Helmet Man of India.”
Addressing an audience of nearly 300 students, teachers and young adults, Kumar shared his personal journey and the tragic loss of a close friend that inspired his lifelong mission to promote helmet usage and road safety awareness.
A nationally recognised advocate, he has distributed over 75,000 helmets across the country, featured on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), and actively supports multiple initiatives under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
The session included an engaging fireside chat followed by an interactive Q&A, during which participants gained valuable insights into safe road behaviour and the importance of personal responsibility while commuting.
Neeraj Sinha, Chief Safety, Tata Steel; Agam Kumar, Chief Safety, Tata Steel Gamharia; along with members of the CII Young Indians team, formally welcomed the eminent speaker.
The Tata Steel SAFE Club, chaired by Ruchi Narendran, continues to champion safety awareness across 32 schools in Jamshedpur, conducting regular programmes and hands-on training sessions on life-saving skills such as CPR and emergency response.
