UditVani, Jamshedpur : RMS High School, Balichela, Sonari, run by Rajasthan Maitri Sangh, has received full affiliation from the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) to conduct classes up to Class XII (ISC), in addition to its existing ICSE (Class X) affiliation. With this milestone, the school is now recognized as a full-fledged ICSE/ISC institution and aims to provide high-quality senior secondary education to students of Jamshedpur and its surrounding areas.

Announcing the achievement at a press conference, Principal Mrs Pratima Sinha said the school had been systematically upgrading its infrastructure over the past few years to meet CISCE norms. State-of-the-art science and computer laboratories, smart classrooms with interactive boards, a well-stocked library, a large playground and a dedicated administrative block were developed, following which the CISCE inspection team found the school fully compliant and granted permission to run senior secondary classes in Science and Commerce streams.
Admission forms for Class XI (Science and Commerce) have been released from 8 December 2025, with a total of 100 seats available in the first batch. Selection will be based on an entrance test along with performance in the Class X examinations, and preference will be given to girl students in keeping with the institution’s commitment to women’s empowerment, while the school also plans to introduce the Humanities stream in the near future.
Tracing the institution’s journey, Mrs Sinha recalled that the school was handed over to Rajasthan Maitri Sangh in 2003 by Tata Steel through the efforts of Late D.P. Kharia, former Deputy Managing Director, Tata Steel and Founder-President of Rajasthan Maitri Sangh. Initially functioning under the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), the school introduced English medium in 2011, secured ICSE affiliation in 2023, and has now attained the coveted ISC status in 2025, with over 1,000 students currently on its rolls.
Rajasthan Maitri Sangh office-bearers Shri Ramesh Agarwalla, Shri R.K. Jhunjhunwala, Shri S.S. Gadia, Shri Deepak Dokania and Shri V.K. Tulsiyan stated that Late Shri D.P. Kharia’s dream of providing quality English-medium education to children from lower socio-economic backgrounds and the wider Jamshedpur populace is now being realised. They added that RMS High School, Balichela, with its emphasis on holistic development, confidence-building and social responsibility, is poised to emerge as one of the city’s leading institutions and will offer parents in Sonari, Sakchi, Bistupur, Kadma and nearby localities a trusted, world-class senior secondary option close to home.
