Jamshedpur : Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are anticipated at several locations across Jharkhand today, according to the latest weather bulletin.
Regional weather conditions are expected to shift over the next few days. Isolated showers are likely in northeastern Jharkhand on June 1, while southern parts may see rain on June 3.
These changing weather patterns are attributed to a depression currently situated over Bangladesh, which has been tracking north-northeastwards at a speed of 18 km/h over the past six hours. As of the afternoon of May 30, the system was centered near latitude 24.4°N and longitude 89.6°E—approximately 40 km from Tangail, 110 km northwest of Dhaka, 140 km north of Berhampore, and 260 km southwest of Shillong.
Meteorologists forecast that the depression will continue its current trajectory and weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area within the next 12 hours.
In addition, an upper-air cyclonic circulation remains active over central Uttar Pradesh at an altitude of 0.9 km above mean sea level, which could influence weather developments across adjoining regions, including Jharkhand.
Meteorological data showed that maximum temperatures across most parts of the state hovered between 33°C and 35°C.
Meanwhile, many districts in Jharkhand experienced moderate to heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours. Noamundi, located in the West Singhbhum district, received the highest rainfall at 85 mm, followed by Manoharpur in the same district, which recorded approximately 75 mm.
Simdega and Jamshedpur each registered around 38 mm of rainfall, while light to moderate showers were also reported from Ranchi, Daltonganj, and several other parts of the state.
