UditVani Jamshedpur : In a transformative leap toward secure and efficient ticketing, Indian Railways has modernized its digital infrastructure, achieving unprecedented results.
The integration of advanced anti-BOT technologies and a leading Content Delivery Network (CDN) has drastically reduced unauthorized automated bookings and enhanced genuine user access to the IRCTC platform.
BOT traffic, which once made up nearly 50 % of login attempts during the critical Tatkal booking window, has now been fully mitigated.
The result: improved fairness and accessibility for everyday users. On May 22, the upgraded system hit a historic high—31,814 tickets booked in just one minute—demonstrating both scalability and resilience.
To further promote transparency and trust, Indian Railways has deactivated over 2.5 crore suspicious user IDs, ensuring a cleaner and safer booking environment. New protocols prioritize verified users:
Aadhaar-verified users can book tickets immediately
Non-Aadhaar users can access Tatkal and Premium Tatkal bookings only after three days of registration.
Impactful Results:
Average daily logins jumped from 69.08 lakh in FY 2023–24 to 82.57 lakh in FY 2024–25 — a 19.53% increase.
Daily ticket bookings rose by 11.85% in the same period.
E-ticketing now makes up 86.38% of all reserved ticket bookings.
Systemic Enhancements Include:
✔ 87% of static content delivered via CDN, reducing server load and improving speed.
✔ Real-time BOT detection using AI/ML techniques.
✔ Suspicious activity monitoring and user deactivation, with complaint redressal via the Cyber Crime Portal.
With these groundbreaking developments, Indian Railways—through IRCTC—reaffirms its commitment to a transparent, secure, and user-centric ticketing system.
The ongoing digital evolution aims to serve millions more with fairness, speed, and reliability.
