Many have demanded alternative arrangements or rescheduling of construction during holidays or off-peak days to minimize public disruption.
Local residents and traders also criticized the lack of communication and planning, highlighting that no contingency measures have been announced yet.
What the Authorities Say
A senior South Eastern Railway official stated, “The third line near Salgajhuri is crucial for expanding route capacity. While we understand the inconvenience caused to passengers, the long-term benefits will be substantial once the work is completed.”
Although no specific date has been confirmed for the full restoration of services, it is expected that operations will gradually return to normal after June 24.
