UditVani, Jamshedpur : Law and order in Parsudih came under serious question once again after a sensational gun attack on Tuesday evening.
Ravi Yadav, son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Kanhaiya Yadav, was critically injured in a targeted shooting incident near Shashi Yadav’s residence in Kitadih under the Parsudih police station area.
According to reports, unknown assailants arrived on a motorcycle and opened indiscriminate fire at Ravi, who was standing outside the house.
Eyewitnesses claim that the attackers aimed to kill, firing a total of nine rounds, with at least four bullet casings recovered from the scene. Sources say bullets struck Ravi in the face, leaving him grievously injured.
Local residents rushed him to Sadar Hospital, from where he was referred to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) in police custody due to the severity of his condition. His health remains critical.
Following the incident, a team from Parsudih police station reached the spot and cordoned off the area. CCTV footage from nearby establishments is being reviewed to identify the culprits, though no arrests have been made yet.
Ravi Yadav has a controversial past and has been involved in multiple violent incidents. He was previously jailed for assaulting Rinku Khan near the Mansa Mandir. His name has also come up in several other disputes in Parsudih and Bagbera areas. Just weeks ago, a video of Ravi brandishing weapons in a property-related brawl near Sakchi Gurudwara had gone viral.
Police suspect the shooting could be the result of old rivalries or personal enmity, but are yet to officially confirm the motive.
The incident has once again exposed glaring lapses in the area’s security framework. Locals are living in fear, raising concerns about the increasing frequency of such armed attacks. Residents allege that criminals are roaming freely and fearlessly, casting a shadow on police efficiency.
As investigations continue, police have intensified patrolling in the region and assured swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
