UditVani, Jamshedpur : Head Coach Owen Coyle has reaffirmed that Jamshedpur FC will adopt an aggressive, win-oriented approach against Mohammedan SC in their upcoming Indian Super League clash.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Coyle addressed the introduction of promotion and relegation in the ISL, saying it is something he has experienced throughout his managerial career in the UK.
However, he stressed that his team’s focus remains on finishing as high as possible and playing attractive, winning football.
Despite a shortened pre-season, the Scotsman praised his players for their professionalism.
“We tried to fit six weeks of work into three, but the players have been outstanding in their commitment,” he said.
Coyle underlined that togetherness will be the key to success in a compact season. While acknowledging that some clubs spend more, he insisted that performance and belief matter more than budgets. “If we are at our very best, we believe we can beat anyone,” he asserted.
On facing Mohammedan SC, Coyle said his side will respect their opponents but remain positive from the first whistle. “We never play for draws. Our intent is always to win, play on the front foot, and take our chances while staying solid defensively.”
He also revealed that only minor fitness concerns remain within the squad and explained the decision to appoint four captains, emphasizing collective leadership and unity within the group.
