Jamshedpur : The Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) has officially launched the 2nd edition of its Summer Camp on May 11, bringing together 65 enthusiastic children from various schools across Jamshedpur, including participants from the Masti Ki Pathshala initiative by Tata Steel Foundation.
Inaugurated by Gurmeet Singh Rao, Project Director, NTHA, the camp promises an enriching experience focused on developing basic hockey skills, enhancing physical fitness, and fostering a passion for the sport. Guided by FIH-certified coaches, the program includes structured sessions such as hockey drills, video analysis, fun games, and fitness routines—all held in the mornings from 6:30 am to 8 am until May 20.
Masti Ki Pathshala, introduced in 2016, aims to eliminate child labour through education and inclusive opportunities like this camp.
The NTHA Summer Camp continues that mission, creating a supportive environment where every child has the chance to shine.
Speaking at the event, Rao emphasized, “This summer camp is not just a training ground but a platform to discover new talent and foster the sporting spirit among young minds. With structured guidance, we aim to prepare players who can eventually represent their schools in district, state, and national-level competitions such as SGFI.”
Affiliated with Hockey Jharkhand and Hockey India, NTHA reaffirms its commitment to grassroots hockey development.
Registrations remain open, and interested participants can still join by visiting the Naval Tata Hockey Academy, Jamshedpur.
