UditVani,Jamshedpur : A wave of celebration swept across the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur as the Ministry of Education, Government of India, released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 on Thursday.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the rankings at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, where IIT Madras once again retained its top spot in the Overall Category.
In the Engineering Category, NIT Jamshedpur made a remarkable stride by securing the 82nd position among the country’s top 100 engineering institutions. The institute also ranked 17th among the 31 NITs across India — a significant leap compared to last year.
The achievement comes after consistent efforts over the past five years, driven by the faculty, students, and staff under the leadership of Registrar Col. (Dr.) Nishith Kumar Rai and Director Prof. (Dr.) Goutam Sutradhar.
Expressing delight, Prof. Sutradhar congratulated the institute’s community, stating that NIT Jamshedpur would continue to strive for even better rankings in the future.
The NIRF, launched in 2015 and first published in 2016, evaluates higher education institutions across 17 categories, including Engineering, Medical, Management, Law, and Research Institutions.
